Had this player for than a month now and it's working good as expected for Bluray and DvD. It was also featured for good quality audio from CD but I find it not comparable to standalone Hifi CD players.

I bought this player 2 weeks ago to replaced my old sony Blu-ray player..My first thoughs was this set is made in Malaysia, & the Power supply is built externally. there might be a issue it you're using some extention power socket. Overall the player perform as expected, it dose plays 3D blu-ray title but nowsday sadly there's no 3D spec support. The nafty Remote that comes with it could operate other makes basic TV functions with some setting.That's a very useful feature. I haven't tried any 4K Ultra Blu-ray discs yet. but I'm happy so far that it plays my old BR & DVDs even if there's some scratches on them.

With 2 HDMI output, great. Simple GUI for playback function and easy to use icon tiles. Remote control abit small for big hand. Performed above expectation, output is excellent despite my old 4K Xiaomi 75'TV without HDR feature.... Because of this, i am going to take a new 4K TV likely with Sony for more synchronisation of user experience and able to explore the full feautures.

The truth? Product promises to provide all-playability but it only applies to Discs that have “0” code. Discs that have codes other than this, 1,2,3,4 etc or A, B, C etc cannot be played. While I’m happy for the development to resolve the awful mistakes of regional coding, I’m sad to have to be careful with my collection.

When it's playing a blu-ray disc it functions perfectly. However, your websites said the device is region free - it is not so I still have discs I can't use. Also the built in OS is terrible. I cant upgrade it to a better OS, or add new streaming platforms or apps. Overall, the playback is great, but these 2 issues REALLY need a fix. Maybe a way to get an Android OS installed to allow access to Google Play, and region free playback (as promised online with 4k players).

Product easy to use with minimalistic feature. It has all required for 4K bluray player. It able to process the video nicely and also upscale bluray movie to 4K perfectly to my eyes.It able to deliver Dolby Atmos audio with dedicated speaker. It is awesome.

It plays Blu Ray and 4k disc but it cant's play DVD. After it reached the DVD, language selection, it stops there. There is no default language to select. The typical underline of the default language English does not appear. So i cannot go beyond the language selection to start the movie. Tried 2 products of same model. Same problem. Sent second set to Sony Service Centre. Technician could not detect any problem. Motherboard changed. After Sony returned the repaired unit, the problem repeats. Strange is was ok for the first DVD. But second time I played the same DVD, same problem happened again.

I bought the Blu-ray one month ago and was impressed with the size of the player - small and compact. The compact size does not take away the excellent features of this player which is able to output excellent sound (like Dolby Atmos, DTS X) give very clear and sharp pictures

This is the only product in the market I can find that plays 4K UHD, Bluray, CD and other format of discs. However, it comes with a hefty cost, considering that there are not many output and input options available. It is also pretty light, thus feeling that it is a cheap product.

The video and audio quality from the player exceeded my expectations, even on my non 4-K TV playing through an ATMOS 5 speaker set up. Played 4k, blu-rays and standard DVDs without issues. Only quibble is that I was hoping to use it as a CD player as well through the coaxial output. Connected the player to my DAC through the coaxial output but sound only came out through my atmos speakers and not my dedicated hifi speakers. Contacted online chat but they could only refer me to the documentation which was unclear. Emails to support went unanswered. Highly recommended only if you do not intend to use the coaxial output.

I bought this product 3weeks ago, I am very happy on this product which can play my VCD, no problem to play CD, DVD and BD too. The picture is excellent and sound is good, I love YouTube play on my TV which is 4K60. Only things is this player without display and the power ON light is too dim, you are not easy to see is it the player is ON? Hopefully the product can last long.

The player works very well for both blu-rays and 4k. I'm most impressed with it's start up time and how fast it loads the discs. The main menu is surprisingly sparse and you may even say it is non-designed at all...however I'd like to think that Sony has done this in order to make the player as fast and efficient as possible - and the player is really fast and efficient. In terms of size and external design. The player is wonderfully minimal and takes up very little space. You can see that it is almost the same width as a PS3 and PS4 and is definitely slimmer (thinner).

This is one of the better blu-ray players. It could be improved further if there is a function to zoom in or out on the video.

Good visual and audio quality output, but in term of user experience still have many thins can be improved. Lack of the ability to auto detect Dolby Vision. I've experienced over heat issues also but that can fix by put some thing under the device to boost it higher. User interface looks very old in the year of 2021. Overall experience is good.

An excellent 4K UHD Blu-ray player with Dolby Vision support. The main drawback to this player is the way in which Dolby Vision ("DV") support is implemented. It does not auto detect DV content and switch/output in DV automatically. Instead you have to manually select or turn on DV when viewing DV content. And if you set the 'Dolby Vision' setting as 'On' in the player settings, it will automatically play back all HDR content (even plain old HDR10 discs) in DV format. This is a major hassle and downside to this otherwise excellent 4K Blu-ray player. The other downside is the lack of HDR10+ support. Other than that, I am very happy with the player and its user interface.

Kind of disappointed after buying this player. Netflix's having issues at earlier starts. Installed Apps not useful for most users.

Pros: Solid, reliable and quiet player that runs with very little to almost no noise or vibration during playback. Supports Dolby Vision. Cons: Does not support DVD-audio, Dolby Vision must be manually enabled. No status LED on front panel and WIFI at 2ghz only.

Great video and audio quality. However, I'm disappointed with the restriction to play only regionally allowed discs. Several of my discs bought overseas cannot be played on this player due to region code restrictions.

Freezes a lot. Youtube payback not as vibrant as native television application. Disc playback is god this far. Netflix payback is decent

It's a fine product, but it does not deliver as stated in the web-site.. Ultimate disc drive Play all your CD, DVD and Blu-ray™ collections conveniently with one universal player... I own code 1 & 3 DVD.. why publish play all DVD???? only Code 3 DVD..what am I going to do with my Code 1 DVD?

Updates to latest firmware for Dolby Vision. Excellent quality video and audio output. Fuss free installation. Connects and Bravia sync well with A8H and HT-Z9F. Love the modern design too. Buttons in the player can be improved though.

It was a good product overall. Supports many formats, able to even watch netflix and youtube from here. Startup a little slower than expected but still ok. Expected loading of youtube/netflix be faster as well but.. reason i bought this player (other than 4k) is cos of easy access of netflix n youtube.. but in the end, im using another device for netflix/youtube. Bluray works fine n good.. but i think that i should have just gotten the cheaper bluray player since basically im only using the player when watching blu-ray.. a little waste of $ in my own opinion..

Was considering at first to get this player or not. But decided to go for it. Apart from having to select Dolby Vision before playing (as it is not auto). Everything is fine. Played my 4K blu ray and upscale normal blu ray nicely. Heard reviews saying Netflix is not Dolby Vision enable but I've yet to try as my A8G's Netflix app is Dolby Vision enabled. Disc loading is acceptable, relatively fast. No regrets buying this 4K Blu Ray player.
